USM diligently collects international awards

USM has frequently received national and international awards for both its furniture and its communication media. Now, not long after being launched on the market, its latest product developments and information have been named as award winning too.

This small but impressive collection of awards over the last few years re-confirms the innovative character of the USM modular furniture systems.

2015 – Design Prize Switzerland  – USM Privacy Panels

We are very proud to have won the Design Prize Switzerland in the Furniture category. The internationally renowned panel of judges headed by the prestigious designer Jasper Morrison justified its decision as follows:

“The USM Haller Modular Furniture system is a classic that remains as contemporary as ever even decades after its development and market launch. The company has responded to changes in the office world, especially the need to visually and acoustically shield certain work areas, by sensibly expanding its product range to include the USM Privacy Panels…”

2017 – German Design Award – USM Privacy Panels

The German Design Award is presented to innovative products and projects as well as their manufacturers and designers regarded as pioneering in the German and international design scene. This is guaranteed by the international panel of eminent judges.

USM was named German Design Award Winner 2017 for its USM Privacy Panels in the Excellent Product Design / Office Furniture category.

2017 – Red Dot Award – USM Haller E landing page

The ‘Red Dot’ bestowed within the scope of the Red Dot Design Award from Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (‘North-Rhine Westphalia Design Centre) is a globally recognised seal of quality for outstanding design.

We are delighted to have won the Red Dot Award in the Communication Design category for the USM Haller E landing page, designed by our agency Scholz & Volkmer Berlin.

2017 – Architects’ Darling Award – USM Haller E

Over 2,000 German architects and planners select the winners of the Architects’ Darling Award by means of a large-scale survey. Recipients of the golden phoenix can rightly claim: “Our product impresses Germany’s architects.”

USM has won the award for the Haller E not just once, but twice: in the Best Product Innovation – Development and Best Film Product Presentation categories.

2017 – FX International Interior Design Awards – USM Haller E

FX is a British magazine that covers all aspects of interior design in the business world. The FX International Interior Design Awards recognise the best design from all over the world. USM is delighted that Haller E was named among the winners in the Lighting Products category. The prestigious judging panel stated the following about Haller E:

“Excellent use of miniature light sources  to create a completely flexible display system. Not strictly speaking a luminaire but a good example of the increased integration of light sources into architectural and display elements”.

2018 – Wallpaper* Design Awards: best of the rest – USM Haller E

Based in London, the international Wallpaper* magazine focusses on design, architecture, fashion, travel, art and lifestyle and is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious publications in these areas. Each year, Wallpaper* celebrates the most impressive and creative talents with its Design Award. This results in a visual feast of the hottest design, architecture and fashion virtuosos. USM Haller E was named winner of the Best Updates category. The judges said:

“An iconic design seeing a new light.”

2018 – Frame Awards Milan – USM’s stand at the Salone del Mobile Milano

At the world’s most renowned furniture fair, Frame – the world’s leading media brand among interior design professionals – awarded prizes for the most innovative and inspirational exhibition stands.

USM’s stand at the Salone del Mobile 2018 won a Frame Award Milan for each of the following two categories: ‘Best Use of Material’ and ‘Trade-Fair Stand of the Year’.

We owe these special awards to the brilliant ideas of the UNStudio Futures team (Amsterdam, NL) and the meticulous implementation by the USM team involved in the stand construction.
